Perspective

We got word earlier this week that Daniel's grandpa wasn't doing too well and if we wanted to be able to talk to him while he was still alert, we should come right away. It's funny how our days seem so busy and full and then, when you get news like that, suddenly everything on our calendar is expendable.
So we called Hudson's school, canceled meetings, pushed back deadlines, postponed our dinner party, and hopped in the car for the peaceful, quiet,  2-hour drive to Daniel's hometown.  And we spent all day either by grand dad's side or in the waiting room or at Daniel's parents' house sharing stories with some of Daniel's bajillion family members (in the Armstrong clan there are 2 grandparents, 6 kids + spouses,  20 grandchildren + spouses, and an uncountable & rapidly-growing number of great-grandchildren.)
 I married well.
I hope when I'm in my last days I have the company of a clan of family members...children, grandchildren, and maybe great-grandchildren....by MY side telling stories, holding my hand, and kissing my forehead like the Armstrongs do.
No rush though, I'm having a lot of fun right here.
Have a good one : )

Beautiful thoughts, I agree, I'd like my family to be that way too.

Loved reading that...makes me think of my family living far away in Germany and how much I miss them! Thanks for sharing!
