Fried Yard Clippings
Jude and Grammy have been enjoying spring today-- spring weather AND spring flowers!!
Grammy taught Jude how to fry dandelions and wild onions from our yard.
First, remove the stems and discard. Then soak and rinse the flowers with salt water to get rid of any dirt or tiny critters.
Dip the dandelions in flour and seasoning (salt, garlic powder, pepper, etc), then in a raw egg/milk mixture, then back in the seasoned flour.
And then just fry them in a pan of oil til lightly browned and crispy
And there you go!
Pretty tasty!
Date night tonight! So excited!! Daniel and I have been working on a detailed weekly family rhythm. Being artists, we tend to be weak in the "planning" area and tend to just go with the flow. But we've really noticed that our family could benefit from some structure in our week. It's going to be great. Things like "date night" and "family night" and "art with friends" will hopefully become regular weekly occurrences in our home.
Do you guys have a regular weekly family schedule or do you just take one week at a time?
Either way, hope you're week is going well!

we are both artists too... sounds like something we could use more of.
Married to an engineer/businessman we definitely have routines in our life! For Andy, he just feels more relaxed when we do. Things like Friday nights tend to be our family nights. We either play a family game or watch a movie. Saturday nights are often "friend nights" where we invite people into our home. Since I am not quite so planned, we also have nights where we spontaneously meet friends or go out to eat. Balance between the two is a good thing. (which is what happens when total opposites marry)
We do have a weekly routine...it's been turned upside down and scrambled up for the past 6 weeks with the unexpected addition of 2 people to our family but we're working on mapping out the new normal. AND most importantly...normal can change and it's okay. I usually have a housework goal for each day and a homeschooling goal for each day. nothing too crazy and I've been working on letting go on having a lot of expectations about how it will all turn out...and going with the flow more. Going with the flow...certainly something i appreciate about the Armstrong crew.
