Feelin Springy

Blue skies, puffy clouds, warm temperatures, and flowers in full bloom...we're trying to take advantage of this beautiful spring we're having in our neck of the woods.

We're eating outside as much as possible.

And taking walks and bike rides.

We paid our first trip to the plant nursery just around the corner (first of probably many).

We brought a little spring indoors.

And I brought this springy vintage scarf out of winter storage.

It goes perfectly with my springy, new, sparkly pink ModCloth shoes! Woohoo! Cutest. Shoes. Ever.

Yes, we're all happy about warm sunny days ahead. Eli's been working hard on his beach body and is excited to show it off! : )

Saturday-ing

Oh man, I hope the weather where you are was as beautiful as it was here in Cincinnati. It was perfect. Hard to believe its technically still winter with all the flowers and green leaves popping out!

The boys started the day getting Hudson's first business endeavor off the ground--the Armstrong Tomato Company. He'll be selling 7 varieties of tomato seedlings for $1 each and has been working on his logo and order forms all day : )

Then a trip downtown to buy the vintage armchair I've been pining for since I first saw it last month. Yay!

Coolest used furniturewarehouse ever.

Then we hung out at a few of our favorite downtown spots!

Mmmm....Coffee Emporium.

A crocheted bicycle!

He loves me and my kisses, promise.

It was beautiful.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Girling It Up.

Maybe it's the spring-like weather and the blossoms that have suddenly popped up around here.  Maybe it's that the guy to girl ratio in our family is now 4:1 so I feel the need to be 4x's more girly. Don't know why, but recently I'm drawn to pink glitter and lace like a moth to a pretty, pretty flame.

This oh so pretty nail polish found its way into my cart at Target today. Weird.

And my stash of pretty pink fabrics has been growing little by little in hopes of some day soon having the time to make some pretty lacy skirts and some soft cozy pajamas.

Then there is the parade of cuuuute pink dresses on my Pinterest board.

Darn you, adorable dresses! Why must you be so cute and yet so not hanging up in my closet right now? A real shame.
And of course with pretty pink dresses I'll need matching pink shoes

and something really girly to drink...
and pink walls. Too much?

Just realized I am currently wearing a pink tshirt and drinking pink lemonade through a pink straw. I might have a problem.

The Country

We spent the day yesterday in the country at Papa's house, the house that's been the same peaceful Papa-built, Granny-decorated home on a hill since way before I was born.

Every time I go I take lots of pictures. Pictures of old things because every old thing in the house has a story.

Every table, afghan, rocking chair, and quilt, it seems, was made by one of my grandparents or great grandparents or great-great grandparent.

And I take pictures of new things. Like Eli on his first trip to a house I hope he'll love as much as I do.

Sweetest wallpaper ever.

Old school!

Bathroom counter

Great-grandma-made afghan. I like her style.

Baby Wilco enjoying the fresh air at HIS first trip to the country too.

Porch time

Tinkertoys. They were vintage when I used to play with them.

Dreaming of growing all our own food some day.

Explaining the map he drew exploring Papa's land.

The man himself : ) 91 and going strong!

A lofty reading spot

Yep, a day at Papa's is just the cure we needed.

Hope your week is off to a good start!
