He's Back!

Daniel's back and today we're working on our last-minute, super fun project together! Unfortunately that means we're both at our computers in different rooms of the apartment. But thanks to Steve Jobs and his invention of video conferencing and built-in cameras ; ) we can still "be together"
So now I can hear him singing along with his headphones from the other room AND over the internet! Love it : )
Hopefully our little project will be done tomorrow so we can show you!

Til Then!

Nice To Look At!

Daniel sent me a few more pics of their sweet pad on a rocky shore at the tip of the world. I want to go to there! Seriously, in how many places in the world can you watch scores of humpback whales from your open air living room?! Pretty sweet!

And yet somehow he's still looking forward to coming home soon. He must reeeeally love us. : )

Cleaning, sketching, and entertaining/being entertained by the boys is on the schedule for the rest of the day. Hope you're heading into a great weekend!

Owl City

Last night's concert was magical as expected. Hudson was a trouper and has added "rock star" to his list of future vocations (along with firefighter and policeman thanks to "community helpers day" at preschool)

Meanwhile Daniel sent me THIS picture of where he is staying. I'm thinking he just clipped it out of an airplane travel magazine so that I wouldn't feel too sorry for him for having to miss Owl City. Nice try, babe, I'm on to you though.

And while Daniel spent the day frolicking with dolphins and sipping tiny umbrella drinks while "on business" in Mexico ; ) the boys and I spent aaaaaaall day riiiiight here. Seriously, we hardly left this room. Jude's lingering sickness kept us tucked in bed in our pajamas with lots of movies, sketchbooks, stuffed animals, and general coziness. It was pretty great, actually. Though I'm hoping we'll be able to emerge from the cave tomorrow.
I got started on a top secret, last-minute project that totally doesn't fit into my already behind-schedule work list. But I'm doing it anyways : ) Hopefully I'll show you Monday!

Come home soon, Daniel! And bring us a dolphin!

In Good Hands

You moms know that few things throw your daily to-do list for a loop like a sick child. Today's long to-do list got scratched for a whole lotta cuddling and Sesame Street watching.

(Grammy love)

But we DID get one more stage make-up demo done for the book.

(mom before--isn't she cute : )
(mom's character after)

Speaking of, I hear said sick baby crying from bed now. Duty calls..quite loudly.

The Weekend In Photos

1. A late morning
2. A wedding celebration

3. A pulled muscle in my second attempt at Pilates (no photo necessary)

4. A sisterly-bonding, Ikea and home decorating night

5. A self-inflicted hair trimming

6. And a field trip to the downtown library

This week the Mr. goes to Mexico for a few days on business so the boys and I will try to pass the time as quickly as possible with lots of fun indoor activities-- crafting, cooking, a coffee shop or book store trip, and THIS CONCERT. Yay Owl City!! I'm taking Hudson in Daniel's absence. It's going to be our BIG MOMMY/SON NIGHT OUT!

Good night!!

My Boys In Makeup

Here are pictures from yesterday's stage make-up session. We're working on the make-up chapter for the book. Preeetty funny. You should have seen me awkwardly explain to the child care staff at the gym last night why my five-year-old son still had remnants of eyeliner and mascara on! They nodded and have me half-hearted smiles but I could see the disapproval in their eyes.

My lovely husband (sans makeup) took me on a much-needed lunch date today in the city. I LOVE the city and am SO looking forward to warmer weather so we can spend more time exploring!!

Have a great weekend!!

Now Available...

Just added print versions of two of my recent paintings to ye olde etsy shop. So hop on over if you're interested!

On the docket for today---using Daniel as my stage makeup model for the book (of course I'll show you photos), finishing up my t-shirt and tote bag design concepts for Stop Traffick Fashion, making this super easy super delicious soup, crafting with the boys, and folding 6 loads of laundry while catching up with The Office and 30 Rock. Woohoo!

Have a good one!
