I'll sleep in 2010.

It's 10pm. I just now got 30+ print orders from Relevant Magazine's sale....mad dash to order more ink and paper....helloooo overnight shipping costs. But the night is young. I'm off to Target for some last minute Christmas shopping and then on to my sister's new house. They are moving in as we speak and trying to get ready for lots of out of town guests who will be sleeping in their brand new (to them) home tomorrow night. So I'm going over to help unpack. Then back home to print orders. Something tells me I will see the sun rise in the morning. I think I hear coffee calling my name.

Sleep well. I'll hold the fort down for ya. : )

Awaited Print

This year I was asked to create a custom print as a gift for the cast and crew of Awaited (a.k.a. coolest Christmas show ever). If you're a Cincinnati local, you should totally go see it. Tickets are free but you do have to reserve them online 'cause the 20,000 tickets go quickly.

I'm a bit under the weather so I think I'm gonna crawl back in bed so I can kick this cold in the rear. Here are some cozy "get well soon" images in case you're feeling a little like I do...

Winter Wonderlands

I've had a design crush on Anna Melcon Bond for several years, ever since her days as a designer for Relevant Magazine. Every once and awhile her name will come to mind and I will google her to check and see if her online store is up yet. And finally, IT IS!!
Seriously, this girl's stuff is amazing---her photography, her show poster art, event design...
It looks like there is still a little time left for Christmas orders if you find something you like in her shop (and how could you not?!)

Cute prints!
I think I want to get these botanical cards and frame them

or these...or all of them. So hard to choose!

We've been crafting it up around here. There is a fine coat of glitter covering just about every surface, paper scraps littering the floors like fake snow, fake snow also littering the floors : ) , paper chains, ribbon, tape, glue...the good stuff.

There's still so much I want to make though so I am trying to prioritize. When the Christmas decorations go down, I think the snowy decorations will go up. These photos have me dreaming and planning of making our place a post-Christmas winter wonderland...

Instructions here.

From Elf. We watched it last night. Hudson thought it was hilarious. I loved all the paper chains and snowflakes.

I've gotta stay up late tonight to finish some commissioned work. Stay cozy!

Date NIght!

We're off to the Seabird release party! (Check out their new Christmas songs--they're great!) I get to pick up one of my shirts and spend some much needed time alone with the Mr.! Have a good night!!

Cozy Does It

It's a cozy, cozy work day around here (the best kind!). Cleaning and organizing doesn't seem so bad when there is Christmas music in the background, the smell of Christmas candles wafting throughout the house, and the glow of the Christmas tree lighting up the corner of the room. We're staying warm and being productive...

Making sure everyone is snug and feeling loved...

Organizing all my printing and shipping supplies (a clean studio/bedroom is a happy one)

Working on a few more Christmas crafts...

And putting the finishing touches on the tree.

But nothing is as cozy as snuggling with a newborn baby!!! We met our new nephew last night!

Such a big expression for such a tiny sound!
Closing out his second day in the world right where he should be--in mommy's arms : ) : )

Hope your space is just as cozy!

And The Winner Is...

#6 -- Kris who said:
One of my favorite things I have given was the blanket I made for Dwight the year Leah was born. It was the first thing I made after she came along, and he was completely surprised. It may be fresh on my mind because he used it all day yesterday while he was sick...thankfully he is feeling much better now though.

YAAAY!! Thanks for your comments! I loved reading all about your special handmade, thoughtful gifts!

So Kris, shoot me an email at arianarmstrong@yahoo.com and let me know where you'd like me to send your journal! Glad Dwight is feeling better! I'm sure it was the blanket ; )

Okay, gonna go back to holding my new nephew!!

Back Soon!

Hey! We're heading out on a last minute day trip to meet our new nephew!! I'll be back this evening with photos and the winner of the Owl journal. So leave a comment if you haven't yet!

Later!
