Bad News, Good News

The bad news is, we may have lost our camera. (Word to the wise--apparently, in the grass in a cemetery is not a safe place to store your camera overnight. Who knew?) ; ) The good news?-- I figured out we can use our food dehydrator to make croutons. Soo, we've go that going for us.

(photo taken by someone else...sigh)

And in other good news, I got my order of lino block printing supplies and started working last night on my first block print. I hope to have some limited edition prints available in the shop soon!

The Softie Bandwagon

I've decided to hop on the softie bandwagon (and my, what a warm and cozy bandwagon it is). Here's a sneak peak at some work in progress. A little fabric, some paint, a sharpie, polyfil, a few tea bags and coffee grounds--mix them all together and we'll see how they turn out!

Brought to You By Hallmark and Sharpie

This morning Hudson laid down next to Jude, gently held Jude's face in his hands, and sang in his own made-up tune "I'm never gonna leave, Don't be afraid, Don't ever be afraid" then hugged him and said "I love you sooo much". Hellooo Hallmark commercial! Though I'm sure by this afternoon, Hudson will be back to bouncing balls off Jude's head and seeing how far he spread his little baby toes apart.

Last night I took a Sharpie to Jude's onesie (a size 6-9month! my little almost 3-mo-old is a BIG boy!). It was a lot of fun. We'll see how it holds up against the inevitable onslaught of drool and spit up.

I Do

I just added this customizable print to the shop. Daniel and I BOTH forgot our wedding anniversary this past year until someone reminded us the next day. If only we had had this print on our wall...

If you're interested in using this image on wedding invitations, save-the-date cards, or thank you cards let me know. We can probably work something out : )

Food, Folks, and Fun

My dad and sister left this morning. It was a great 5 days complete with walks to the ocean, a day trip to the lovely Portsmouth, NH, lobstering in the wind and rain, music, food, and camping out in the living room. Hudson and Jude enjoyed the extra attention for sure.

One of the things on the menu--this (almost) raw strawberry pie that was soooo good--sweet, fresh, easy, and basically just fruit and nuts. The recipe is here though I added a little yogurt on top. Again, it was better than I expected so give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Little Upgrades

My dad and sister are visiting this week which was good motivation to get some decorating projects done. Daniel finished making this desk to replace the plastic folding table we'd been using since we moved here three years ago.

I painted this wall with chalkboard paint (who needs security deposists back anyways) and did a little re-covering.

First--this little footstool we got for free when we first moved in. I used the scrap of fabric leftover from the curtains we just hung in our living room.

And secondly, I used a piece of a discontinued wallpaper sample to give this light switch a quick makeover.

We'll be playin Boston tour guides this weekend. Have a good one!

Mothers Day : )

Hope you moms had a very special mother's day! (Sorry to my moms for not getting your gifts in the mail on time...you guys will get them soon) : )

Hudson worked hard (with daddy) to make a jar candle for me by chopping off the tops of our current candles (hilarious) and melting them down...

Very special : ) He picked out flowers, a golfing mother's day card (I've never been golfing but he didn't think that was an issue), and a cake with lots of colorful sprinkles. Very cute.

The coolest thing about THIS mother's day?--- having TWO to be a mother to.
