Granny Bird

These discontinued wallpaper samples are some of my finds while rummaging through my grandparents' garage and basement. They are compliments of my Papa who used to own a hardware store and never throws things away.
Here he is hard at work (and he's 87!)

Here's a print I just added to the shop-- a homage to granny and papa's house : )

Enjoyin' the Great Outdoors

We're still visiting family in the Ohio/Kentucky area. The past few days have been filled with lounging, fishin, thrifting, sketching, rummaging for treasures in my grandparents basement, and enjoying the country air and water. Here are a few picks from the trip so far.

Hudson fishing with my dad on Fathers Day

Papa "chillaxin'" on our makeshift hammock.

We'll be back home next week so check back for some updates to the shop. You'll be able to see the results of my rummaging.

Off to the 'Nati

We're heading to Cincinnati today and will be gone for a bit over a week. If I get a chance to post while we're gone I will. I'm hoping to get some more pieces done while I'm there (since Hudson will be occupied with the grandparents and their dogs). So check back in the shop in about a week and a half!!

Happily Ever After

The Cast and Crew

As promised, here are photos from this past weekends show at MLT. With this set design, I was going for a more "home-spun" feel-- very low tech and child-like. It was fun to work on my I missed my sleep.

Thanks Lauren Rose!

Hey, my first time being featured. Thanks, Lauren Rose, for your sweet review!

A Pretty Little Faith

This print was inspired by one of my sister's songs of the same title. It's now up in the shop.
We're heading to good ole' Ohio this Friday because Daniel is doing GOBA and Hudson and I are going to hang with family. I'm hoping to get in a lot of sketching and thrifting. I need this vacation! It's been a BUSY few months! I'm not good at saying "no" and often find myself over-commited. That was fine when I was flying solo but now I've got a husband and son who get neglected when I'm too busy. Sigh... I need to learn that not all opportunities are good ones.

Willow

"Willow" is up in the shop. Make sure to stop in and check it out.

We saw the show last night--very cute. There were some minor technical difficulties and some issues with the little actors (the little girl who played the Queen got sick during intermission forcing the little King to go through the whole second act just pretending she was there, dancing alone in the ballroom scene--what a professional). I'll put some photos up today or tomorrow.
