Thanks Lauren Rose!

Hey, my first time being featured. Thanks, Lauren Rose, for your sweet review!

A Pretty Little Faith

This print was inspired by one of my sister's songs of the same title. It's now up in the shop.
We're heading to good ole' Ohio this Friday because Daniel is doing GOBA and Hudson and I are going to hang with family. I'm hoping to get in a lot of sketching and thrifting. I need this vacation! It's been a BUSY few months! I'm not good at saying "no" and often find myself over-commited. That was fine when I was flying solo but now I've got a husband and son who get neglected when I'm too busy. Sigh... I need to learn that not all opportunities are good ones.

Willow

"Willow" is up in the shop. Make sure to stop in and check it out.

We saw the show last night--very cute. There were some minor technical difficulties and some issues with the little actors (the little girl who played the Queen got sick during intermission forcing the little King to go through the whole second act just pretending she was there, dancing alone in the ballroom scene--what a professional). I'll put some photos up today or tomorrow.

SHEW!

SHEW! WHAT A WEEK! Finishing the set coupled with the web design I'm trying to finish made for some really late nights this week--4am, 4am, 6am, and 2am. Though I'm not sure if 6am can still be considered "late". Anyways, we're going to see the show this evening so I'll have some pics up soon.
In the meantime, stop on over in the shop and check out this new "Melancholy Dancer" print available.

It's Here!

I am soooo crazy busy this week with the kids show opening this weekend and a website I'm designing due tomorrow. I've gone to bed after 4:00am the past two nights. It just makes me more anxious to get my Etsy store finally ready for its grand opening. I have this feeling that if I can be doing more fine art and less graphic/web design then life will be a little slower, a little simpler. We'll see.

All that to say that I'm jazzed that my new printer arrived in the mail today! I got a great deal on a refurbished one from Epson. This is my answer to the question I've be researching regarding how/where to have my work printed. In the end I decided that taking the plunge and buying the printer to do it myself will pay for itself eventually (hopefully sooner than later), save my customers money (since I can offer them at a lower price than if I had them outsourced), and mean a much faster turn around time. It helps to have a tech-saavy husband to support me.

As I type this I am taking my new printer baby for a test run. Woohoo!

workin' hard

Here's a sneak peek at the set for the upcoming childrens show at MLT . The show is this weekend so I've got a couple late nights ahead. But I'll be sure to show you the finished work.
As you can see, I've got good help. : )

Rockin' Out

Daniel and I had a 20 hour date last weekend because Hudson spent the day and night with his pal Elisha. We, along with Daniel's co-worker and his girlfriend (both UC students--yeah, representin'!) went downtown Boston for food and live music fun in the sun. A local radio station and Whole Foods put on "Earthfest"--an outdoor concert event with lots of "hippie-type" ; ) food samples like Cliffbars, soy smoothies, and granola. We got to see Mat Kearney and KT Tunstall. KT is so great live because she does all this looping stuff in her songs that you don't realize is all her when you hear her songs on the radio. Great fun! I love Hudson but we welcomed the chance to be adults for a whole day!
