The MAN.

As part of my birthday month ; ) celebrations, my mom took me to two special places near the University of Cincinnati... my old stomping grounds.  Rohs Street Cafe---where I have tons of great memories, where the art on the walls is done mostly by friends, and where the barista is often someone I knew back in college--- and Duttenhofer's Rare and Used Books. In college I lived across the street from Duttenhofers and spent hours exploring the cramped, dusty aisles of beautiful old books.

I picked out two C.S. Lewis books-- "The Great Divorce" and "The Problem of Pain". They cover some hard questions that have literally been keeping me up at night recently and C.S. Lewis is pretty much THE MAN when it comes to tackling tough issues like heaven and hell and suffering and joy. So I'm excited to jump into them.
If you want a swift but loving kick in the spiritual/intellectual butt, read through some of the hundreds of C.S. Lewis quotes. Like...

"There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, "All right, then, have it your way."

or

" Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see."

or

"You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body."

or, on a lighter note

"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me."

What a guy : )
Kind of a crazy week here. Daniel's grandpa passed away so we're going back up to his home town. Plus we're currently hosting a super cute husband/wife musical duo from Memphis this week. Excited to catch their show tonight!

Have a good one!
